In the church, we celebrate the realities of the Gospel through two ordinances, baptism and the Lord's table. We sing of the reality of baptism in Matt Maher's song, Christ Is Risen. We identify with Christ's death and resurrection because we have died to our old self and have been made new (2 Cor 5:17). And the hymn, Nothing But the Blood, reminds us that the body and blood of Christ, or his death, was the price paid to set us free from sin and restore us into fellowship with God.
