Sunday Gathering - August 9th

 

Because the church’s building is still in a level 3 evacuation zone, we will not be gathering there on Sunday morning. Instead, we will gather for Sunday worship at Faith Bible Church at 1:00 pm.

On August 1st, our Spokane community suffered a nearly incomprehensible disaster as fires tore through our city — including the neighborhood we love and call home, where our church building is also located.

 

To date, 6 families have suffered a complete loss of their home, property, and possessions, and nearly half of our roughly 400-member congregation has been displaced, living in temporary housing due to necessary evacuations — with friends, relatives, in hotels, or other accommodations.

 

Many people and churches have asked how they can specifically help, and we have set up a Fire Relief Fund for our church.

 

These resources will be used to care for the immediate, mid-term, and long-term needs of ITC members, and as the Lord gives opportunity, for the good and upbuilding of others in our area.

 

Although there is much tragedy, we grieve with great hope because of the goodness and faithfulness of the Lord.

Ministry
Marcus and Amie have served at Biblický Sbor Křesťanů Kladno (BSKK), translated as Bible Church of Christians in Kladno, since April 2003. 

Cultural Challenges to the Gospel

  • Atheism has destroyed the culture’s ability to reason. Many of the Czech people that Marcus evangelizes to on the streets literally believe he is crazy.
  • Though many Czechs hold to an agnostic worldview, few are willing to listen to or search for answers to life’s most significant questions. As their apathy grows so does their emptiness and desperation.

Ministry Update
This past year has been filled with encouraging growth in our church body, both spiritually and numerically. The Lord has saved seven people who are currently preparing for baptism. Four families looking for a healthy church have also decided to make BSKK their home church. Their presence has already proved a blessing to our body. We have an average of over 60 people for our Sunday gathering.
As the church grows, so has our need for equipping the saints. We began a monthly men’s meeting in September, studying sexual purity and leadership in the home. We also officially started our H.S. group in September. We have about eight kids from our church and an occasional visitor, a classmate of Sophie’s with whom she has been able to share the Gospel. We also have a Wednesday night bible study through Zoom. This format allows us to reach a greater area of people who would otherwise have to drive 2-4 hours to be with us.
With increased growth, there is an increasing need for systematic training. This is a big task that can only be accomplished through much prayer, perseverance, and other capable ministers.
