A Regard For The Vulnerable

July 29, 2018 Speaker: Kyle Schwahn Series: Deuteronomy: A Covenant of Love

Passage: Deuteronomy 24:1– 26:19

HOME GROUP DISCUSSION

- In Deuteronomy, God through Moses expresses his concern for taking care of widows, the fatherless and sojourners. Is God's concern for the vulnerable evidenced in the New Testament also? Give examples.

- Why did God remind his people of where He brought them from and what they had gone through? How does that relate to us as individual followers of God today?

- Are the vulnerable still present in our times? The widows are obvious, but who are the fatherless? Who are the sojourners? Do God's principles for the vulnerable still apply, and if so, who is responsible?

- God wants our hearts to love his word and principles. He also wants our hands to carry out those principles. Which is more important? Which is more natural for you?
