Passage: Matthew 5:17–20

HOME GROUP DISCUSSION

- From verse 17 of Matthew 5, what does "abolish" mean? What does "Law and Prophets" refer to? Throughout history, have people tried to "abolish" the Law and Prophets? Why would someone do that?

- What does it mean "to fulfull?" From what we've already read in Matthew 1:22, 2:15, 2:17, 2:23 and 4:14, does this seem to be important?

- Kyle said that the Bible is not a story about you, it's a story about Jesus Christ. What did he mean by that?

- If "righteousness" is pleasing God by doing his will, what does Jesus mean in verse 20 when talking about "righteousness?" What does this have to do with the Gopel?
