SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION

1. Live for the Glory of God
Who do we naturally live for before turning our lives over to God through faith in Jesus Christ?  Because of that, without God, whose glory do we seek? Read 2 Corinthians 5:15. Why does God deserve to recieve all glory from us?

2. Pursue Holiness
If holiness isn't at its heart avoiding doing wrong things or doing right things, what is it? Read 2 Timothy 2:20-21. According to the apostle Paul, what is holiness and what would we expect to see in our lives if we are pursuing holiness?

3. Kill Sin
Do we kill sin in our lives so God will accept us, or does God's gracious acceptance of us through Christ move us to kill sin? Read Colossians 3:5. What does the "therefore" represent in this verse? (hint: Colossians 3:1-4) Have you seen the power of the gospel kill sin in your own life?

4. Thirst for God's Word
If sin in our lives is deceitful and untrustworthy, in what source do we find the truth? Read Psalm 1:1-2. If the "law of the Lord" in verse 1 refers to the instruction of God for our lives, how do we delight in it? What does it mean to "meditate?" What has meditating on Scripture done for you in your life?
