SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION

5. Grow God's People
It could be said that only God can grow his people, which can be seen in 1 Corinthians 3:6-7. But what was going on in the first part of verse 6? What does that tell us about how God grows his people?

6. Live Hospitably
One of the qualifications of an elder is to be hospitable. Why do you think hospitality - the inviting of brothers and sisters into your life - is important?

7. Commit to a Church
In Ephesians 3:20-21, Paul mentions that God's glory throughout all generations is found in Christ Jesus, and in what other thing? If the church is not simply spiritual entertainment, what is it? Why is a commitment to a church important?

8. Labor to show Compassion
Galatians 6:10 is just one of many verses that call us to act toward others in a compassionate way. How does the gospel of Jesus make followers of Christ uniquely suited to offer compassion to those around them?

9. Speak the Gospel Boldly
We are commanded by Jesus in Matthew 28:19 to go and make disciples. Is it possible to do that without a solid understanding of the gospel? Choose someone in your group to share the gospel of Jesus.

10. Pray Continually
Read the commands Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. What does it mean to "pray without ceasing?" Why is this important?

11. Lay Down Your Life
In Luke 9:23-24, Jesus tells us that his followers deny themselves. Why would he say that? Who's purpose do you live for?
