Passage: Matthew 26:1– 28:20

SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION

- In reading through Matthew 26-28, what ties to the Old Testament come to mind? What does this tell us about the events that unfolded in these chapters?

- Who deserved the cup of God's wrath that Christ asked if he could avoid in Matthew 26:36-42, but that he instead endured? Why did Jesus, who did not deserve it, let himself be taken and killed? How does that make you feel about the Father? How does that make you feel about the Son?

- In Matthew 27:62-66, the religious leaders and the Romans seemed very concerned about guarding Jesus' tomb. Why is the resurrection of Christ so important? What does it mean for mankind? What does it mean for you?
