- Why is it important to be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger, as James writes in James 1:19? Do you think this describes your character? Is there a relationship with these things to "the implanted word" he mentions in verse 21?

- If we are people who only hear the word but don't do what it says, who are we deceiving? In what ways are you hearing God's Word but not doing it? (Use passages of Scripture like 1 Corinthians 13:4-6 or Philippians 2:3-4 to measure this by.)

- What does James mean by "religion that is pure" in James 1:26-27? What three things summarize our part in this?
