Are You Ready?

Passage: Romans 12:1–2

SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION

- How do the first eleven chapters of the book of Romans display God's mercy to us? What problem do all men and women share? What is our only hope of righteousness? When we believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ, how are we changed and what are we given? Who is able to receive this gift?

- In Romans 12:1, Paul makes an appeal in view of the mercies of God described in Romans 1-11. What is a living sacrifice? What does it mean to "present yourself" as one?

- If the sacrifice of our lives is to be "holy and acceptable to God," how can our lives be holy in light of our sin problem? Where does our holiness come from? If giving our lives to God is our "Sacrifice" - with a "capital S", as Kyle described - what should that lead to? What are some examples of "little s" sacrifices? What kinds of "little s" sacrifices do you make in your life?
