Passage: Exodus 15:22– 18:27

SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION

- After being saved from the Egyptians, the Children of Israel were led into the desert, where they soon faced the problem of thirst. In Exodus 15:24, how did the people react? How did God respond?

- Soon after the Lord provided for their thirst, the people became hungry. How did the people respond to their hunger in Exodus 16:2-3? How did God respond? How does God's provision demonstrate his glory?

- Who were the people actually grumbling against? (Exodus 16:8) What are some examples of grumbling in our own lives? How do our own judgments and complaints relate to God? Do we really believe the Lord is among us?

- How was the Children of Israel's grumbling in Exodus 17:1-2 a littlw worse than the first time they were thirsty? In what ways do we test God? What do we deserve for that? Read 1 Corinthians 10:1-4 and Hebrews 3:7-13. What rock did God strike to provide us with living water even though we deserved God's just wrath?
