2nd Corinthians 5:18-21 Study & Discussion Questions
- Based upon 2 Corinthians 5:20, what do you think it means to be an ambassador of Christ? Are all Christians called to this (look at Matthew 28:18-20)? And what does it mean practically in your life to do this?
- Should it be a priority to pray for the lost? Take a look at 1 Tim 2:1-4 and Matt 4:43-48. How often do you pray for lost people in your life?
- In the Bible, two opposite examples of attitudes towards the lost are Jonah and Jesus Christ. What was wrong with Jonah’s attitude (look at Jonah 4:1-3)? What was so good about Jesus Christ’s attitude towards the lost (see Matthew 9:35-38)? How has your heart been towards the lost? Spend some time evaluating, confessing sin, and praying for Christ-likeness.
- The Bible makes it clear that it is the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that saves the lost (Rom 1:16-17; 10:17). This means we have to always be prepared to share the Gospel (1 Pet 3:15). How prepared are you to share the Gospel? What can you do to prepare yourself better?
- What is your biggest fear when sharing the Gospel with the lost? How should you deal with that fear? Look at how the early church dealt with fear in Acts 4:23-31 and try to extract principles from their example for your own life.
- Who are two people in your life right now who are not followers of Christ (can be a neighbor, classmate, co-worker, family member, etc.)? Commit to praying for them and ask the Lord to give you an opportunity to share with them and invite them to come to our Easter service on April 20th.
