Radical Sin; Redeeming Grace

April 3, 2016 Speaker: Kyle Schwahn Series: Book of the 12

Scripture: Hosea 1:1–3:5

-The sermon began with a short recounting of Old Testament history. Why is it so vital to understand the history of Israel in order to understand the message of the prophets generally, and the message of Hosea specifically?

-Why do you think that God told Hosea to marry Gomer?

-Kyle called the name of the third child in Hosea 1:9 a "theological earthquake." Why did he say this? What theme in Scripture forms the backdrop to this statement?

-Read Hosea 2:5-8. How is the action of Israel in this section, still reflected in the hearts of sinful people?

-How do we see the gospel fleshed out in the word of hope given in Hosea 2:14-23?

-What have you learned about your sin from Hosea 1-3? What have you learned about God's grace?
